# Are premium cordless pool robots actually worth it?

The cable is gone, but charging, lifting, filter care and battery aging remain. Here is the Useworthy way to judge the premium.

## Cordless removes one problem and creates others

A cordless pool robot removes the cable but introduces batteries, charging, retrieval and sometimes connectivity add-ons. The right comparison is not corded vs cordless on convenience alone; it is total human work per clean.

## The premium is now enormous

At the top end, the Beatbot AquaSense X adds an automatic filter-cleaning station. A six-week review found the system genuinely reduces dirty filter work, but the owner still lifts and docks a heavy robot and must provide station space, water, drainage and power.

## Independent testing matters

CHIP’s Scuba X1 Pro Max test measured real runtime and cleaning performance, including weaker surface cleaning and significant lifting weight. Those are ownership facts that headline motor/sensor counts do not communicate.

## Useworthy buyer test

- How many minutes do you spend retrieving, rinsing and charging per week?
- How heavy is the robot when you actually pull it out?
- Does surface skimming replace a separate tool?
- What happens when the battery loses capacity?
